THE EXPENDABLES

So, can we talk about The Expendables? It's the new film written, directed, and starring Sylvester Stallone. Even though filming has just begun, we still don't know much about the story. The basic plot of the film is:

A team of mercenaries head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator.

But this post isn't about the story. I just want to talk about the cast that Stallone was able to put together for this film. And I'm telling you, it's full of movie badasses, who can kick major ass. I'm about to type out all the names that have been officially casted in the film and most people wouldn't believe that this the cast. Hell, I didn't either at first. Ok, here we go: Sylvester Stallone, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Eric Roberts, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Forrest Whitaker,Danny Trejo, and Randy Couture.

Seriously, how the hell did Sly get all these actors? And if you thought that list of actors was great, Arnold Schwarzenegger is even making an appearance as himself as the governor of California in the film. Stallone and Schwarzenegger in the same fucking movie! And we almost even had Jean Claude Van Damme in the movie, but he turned the role down unfortunetly. But this is probably going to be the most badass movie ever made, just based off the cast. It seems that Stallone heard what Quentin Tarantino had originally planned for Inglorious Basterds years ago, in terms of the cast, and just went ahead and did it himself. So, besides what I just posted, there's really not much info out on this film. All we know is that it has just begun filming and there will be tons of action but with a good story, according to people who have read the script. Many people have said it's a good read. No release date has been announced yet. So keep a look out for this movie.
